As one of the most popular events of the season, the NCGT Ryder Cup is a one-day 36 hole Match Play Team Event. Players are split into 2 teams of equal size and handicaps. In 2010 we will be going with Team BLACK vs Team RED.
We will be playing on ALL four courses. Two players from each team will be playing as a foursome. We are playing 4 matches with 9 holes (if needed) of Best Ball and 9 holes of Alternate shot in the morning rounds. In the afternoon rounds, teams will play 9 holes of Scramble followed by 9 holes of Singles.
Each match won is worth one point and a tied match is worth a half a point. There are no extra holes or playoffs to be played. So every forseome will have 5 points up for grabs. The team with the most points, will win bragging rights for the year and THE NCGT RYDER CUP
If both teams are tied after 36 holes, Team BLACK will retain the Cup as defending 2009 Champions.
Best Ball - Both players play as ususal and take the best score with handicaps of the two against the other team's best score.
Alternate Shot - On the first hole, players choose odd or even holes to tee off from, and then alternate shots until the ball is holed. One score per 2-man team against the other team's score.
Scramble - Both players tee off. Teams choose the better placed ball, and both players play from that position and repeat until the ball is holed. One score per 2-man team against the other team's score.
Singles - One player against one player. 2 matches per foursome with handicaps
