Terry Firman - RIP

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Firman family on the passing of one of our tour members. Sadly, Terry Firman passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb 3. The online orbituary can found here. Terry will truly be missed as a true gentleman of the game.

2009 Monthly Highlight in Review

- Craig Reynolds is the big winner at the January 25th Golf-O-Max event and takes home 2 cleaners and one CTP - He would also win Tour Champion Trophy

- Mike Muise ties GOM Low Gross man Thom Panikron, with a Low Score of 73 at Final Indoor event of the '08-09 winter on February 22nd

- Area Courses Open for the 2009 Season and we are playing at Mapleview Golf Course on March 25th for the first time outdoors in 2009

- 13 is the number of rounds I played in April 2009 en route to "Personal High" of 122 rounds in one season

- Matt Renaud shoots a 76 at Cloverdale event and beats Jeff Gray at his home course on May 24th - Matt would also go on to win the Match Play Trophy

- Lisa Muise shoots an 81 in the Spring Major at Emerald Links on her way to a "Tour Record" high of 51 points on June 7th

- Team Black beats Team Green in our Annual NCGT Ryder Cup on July 5th while Team NCGT whoops IGAO 35-15 in The Battle at Belleville on July 25th

- Ken Kraslizc wins his first NCGT Event on August 23rd at Upper Canada and eventually wins "Rookie of the Year" award

- Final 2 groups of the event are forced to finish in the dark at Greensmere event on September 20th (Pace of Play Policy discussions begin)

- Jeff Gray shoots 76 for Low Score at closing event on October 5th at Meadows while establishing a new "Tour Record" for most Low Scores in one season (6)

- Final Round of our 2009 Golf Season is played at Pineview Municipal Golf Course on November 22nd

- Saturday December 19th - The day we gave in and held our Christmas gathering and first Silly Season event of the '09-10 winter at Golf-O-Max

The National Capital Golf Tour is a public golf tour, created for the average golfer in mind and where all levels of golfers can compete against each other and against themselves. We wish to continue being a fun and competitive golf tour that adds the element of spice to the weekend rounds of the everyday player. Our main goals will be to continue to provide an incentive for you to play your best, have a great time while meeting new friends as well as give those of you who enjoy a little wager on their game, a chance to compete.

UPDATE - 2010 Memberships - Thursday, March 04, 2010

Our membership drive has been going on for over a month and half now and we have been receiving registrations almost daily. We now have 40 members signed up, with only 1 spot left for the Season Long Match Play Tourny. All memberships paid for before March 31st will go into a draw for an NCGT prize pack to be drawn at first event of season. Join Tour Here
